Instructions for commissioning the Aquastar Air

Loxone Musterkoffer

Installation Instructions

To add the Aquastar Air to your configuration it needs to be learned in. For this the device needs to be put into learn mode.
First Time:
When the Aquastar Air is first powered up it will automatically be in learn mode for 30 minutes.
To Re-Learn:
The Aquastar Air can be put back into Learn mode at any time. Simply press and hold the Learn button for 5 seconds until the LED flashed Green - Red - Yellow.
The Learn button can be found on the PCB as circled in red below. Please do ensure that the antenna (Yellow Circle) is connected when putting the device into learn mode.
In order to learn in the Smart Socket you need to activate the Air Monitor. Click on the Air Base extension in the periphery window and then in the context bar at the top check the tick box 'Monitor'.
Next, in the monitor below click on the Learn tab and then click the "Start search" button. Now you will see all the Air devices that are in the learning mode below.
Now click on the IR Control Air signal and enter a name for it and then click 'Create device'. The IR Control Air can now be seen in the periphery tree underneath the Air Base Extension.
In addition to the traditional functionality of a 6 way valve, the Loxone Aqua Star Air also has 2 analogue inputs (1 x 0-10V, 1 x 0.5-4.5), 3 Digital Outputs (Relays) and a 1-Wire interface for sensors such as temperature probes/sensors.

1-Wire Interface

The AquaStar Air provides a complete 1-Wire interface with the same features and specifications as the 1-Wire Extension.
For further instructions on 1-Wire, please refer to the 1-Wire documentation page.

This device has been optimised to work alongside the "Pool Controller" function block in the configuration software.

Information on using this function block can be see here.

Replacing Device

If a device has been replaced, you need to update the serial number. You can easily do that in the Air Monitor in Loxone Config.
  • mount the new device and activate the power supply or insert the battery
  • search for air devices in learn-mode (as shown in the "getting started" section)
  • highlight the new device and choose the device you would like to replace in the drop-down menu
Finally press "Replace Device" and save your program in the Miniserver. The device has now been replaced.

The Air devices will run their update automatically in the background, and they will function throughout the update.
If the Air devices are updating when the Miniserver and the Air Base Extension are rebooted then the Air devices will restart the update from the beginning after the reboot.
The update can take up to an hour so do be aware of this!
You can check the version of the devices by looking in Device status. Click on the Miniserver tab and then click the Device status button once.
