Get started with the Demo Case

Getting started

This video shows you how to get started with the Demo Case, including connecting with the app and controlling the functions.

First steps with the Demo Case

1. Plug in and get started

First off - power up! Make sure your AC adaptor is connected and plug it into the wall. When the Miniserver and Extension LEDs begin to flash green you’ll know that your Miniserver and Extensions are ready to go.

The standard setup of your Demo Case allows you to control and showcase various functions: You can use the buttons, an electronic key (iButton), etc. They’re all preconfigured - so you can get started right away!

2. Connect Wirelessly

Next you can connect your smartphone, iPad or PC to your Demo Case.

Just search for the Wi-Fi network created by your Demo Case (it’ll start with ‘EEE’) and connect to it. If you need the exact network name to connect, you can find it printed on a white sticker on the case (the serial number is the same as the wireless network name).

3. Control your Demo Case with a Smartphone or Browser

Familiarise yourself with the user interface and try controlling the demo case with our smartphone app or through a web browser:

Control your Miniserver with your mobile device

Controlled by iPhone, iPad or Android

Download the free apps in the Apple App Store or the Android Market Place and connect to the wireless network of your Demo Case. Open the Loxone app and tap the '+' button and select 'Search Wifi'. Your Miniserver's ID ('Lx' then the last four digits of the serial number printed on the case) will appear on the screen. Select it. You’ll then be prompted to log in. Both the username and password are 'admin' unless you have changed them.

Now you can control your demo case from your Smartphone or iPad!

Control via a web browser

To control your case via the web interface, enter the IP address of your Miniserver into your browser. Then just log in with the username and password ‘admin’.

You will now be able to control your sample case using your web browser!

First Steps in Loxone Config

1. Download and Install Loxone Config

If you’ve not already done so, download and install the latest version of the Loxone Config (our free configuration software that allows you to set all functions of the Miniserver).

2. Search for the Miniserver & Connect

Now open the Loxone Config software and click on ‘Search’ on the ‘Miniserver’ tab. The Miniserver in your Demo Case will be listed in the search results along with the extensions. Select the Miniserver by double-clicking it.

Select the Miniserver by double-clicking it in the search results or by clicking "Connect" in the "Miniserver" tab. If not entered already, you can get the name and IP of your Miniserver from the search results. The username and password are both "admin".

After connecting, the status bar in your Config software will turn green.

3. Loading, modifying and saving a program

The next step is to load the program that controls the Demo Case directly from the Miniserver. To do this click on the tab ‘Miniserver’, then ‘Load from Miniserver’.

Now you can make changes to the existing programming.

Tip: If you plan on changing the program, save the original program locally on your hard drive. That way you can import it back in again later.

How to create programs in Loxone Config

You can test any changes you've made in the ‘Test’ mode before you import them back into the Miniserver.

Once you've tested your configuration, you can upload it onto your Demo Case Miniserver, by clicking ‘Miniserver’ & then ‘Save in Miniserver’.
