Hi there,

I tried the web page in english language and was able to open the wiring documentation. Here's the link:

https://www.loxone.com/Pages/en/service/DOCUMENTATION/Verkabelung/Informationen-Zur-Verkabelung.aspx

I hope this is sufficient for your needs.

Hi Michael and thanks for the reply and your interest!

I also have access to that page, which simply says that miniserver is like a PLC. What interests me are the technical details and information for interconnecting the various elements. For example if i want to dimming a light which element should i choose, what cables do i need, what kind of lamps can i control (incandescent, fluorescent), etc, etc...

Is there a way to find the information i ask?

Hello, I don't know where you life and if Loxone offers the trainings as well in your area but I would suggerst that you start with a basic day course and all your questions would be answered.
Ohterwise you have to read a lot of documentation and Q&A's here in the forum.
Michael was already posting the link to the wiring doc on the website.
Based on that it should be more or less clear. What I did when I started: I just baught the components and with a miniseerver I started to do some testing in a kind of LAB environment before I did the real implementation.

Best regards,
Christoph

Hi vampiris,

We are offering the first English Loxone training courses in the UK. If this is an option for you, then you can find out more about these here: http://www.loxone.com/Pages/en/Mein-Konto/Partnerprogramm/Schulung.aspx

Here also a few basics tips for your wiring:

1. Wire (almost) everything as a star back to the Miniserver, just like you wire a PC network to a central switch.

2. The only exception to rule 1 are your ring mains, unless you want to switch every socket individually

3. For consumers/outputs (i.e. light fittings, 5A sockets, central heating pumps, thermal actuators, etc.) use standard twin and earth with an appropriate rating. For blinds and curtains you need 3 core and earth to drive the motors in both directions.

4. For sensors/inputs you can generally use Cat5 cable. This means to the switch locations, temperature sensor locations, PIRs etc. you just run a Cat5 cable. There is only very little current flowing here so you do not need as much copper and can save some money.

I hope this answers a few more of your questions.

Best Regards,

Philipp

Thank you all for your replies!

I started to concentrate more on the programming of miniserver and read the informations contained on the website of loxone, but also in the forum ...

Christoph Drescher is right, somehow... I must read more and return with more substantial questions in order to get the appropriate answers. But not spending some thousands of euros just for testing BigGrin!

Philipp Schuster, London is a bit far away from Greece (I fill some details in my profile)!Several people, here in Greece, looking for economic solutions for the automated homes and many know how to program PLC's. The next months i am planning to begin the electrical wiring of my house! I hope to gather the necessary information and be able to install the system of loxone...

Οnce again I apologize for my bad English and god bless Google Translate ThumpUp!
